And I thought the mouse was bad. This is the damage one rabbit did overnight. It appears that only one of these plants has a chance to actually live through this distruction. The others have been eaten almost completely. I put the planter up on bricks, but it was too late. Wylie Wabbit outsmarted me. *sigh*
Sorry for your loss!
Isn’t it amazing how much we do to feed the critters, they pick over our crops like they were in a health resort salad bar!
I have no rabbits to contend with but do have squirrel who are my major oposition. So far my broccoli is surviving well under the cage; the leaves are getting larger and the stems are taller. In another week the cage may have to come off or the plants may grow through, I will then know if the squirrels or others will have their way with them.
I’m curious. It’s been over a month now, and I’m wondering if your broccoli is producing and wondering if the squirrels are leaving it alone. I didn’t know squirrels like broccoli. You’d think I would have squirrels around here, but I guess they haven’t found me yet. Thank the Lord….all the other creation has. Watch out for ducks….
